Additional factors for the calculation of a sauna heater

The cubic meter volume of your sauna may need to be calculated as the power requirement is affected by, among other things:

- Surfaces in a sauna that consist of glass, concrete or tiles, the power requirement increases and your sauna volume is increased by 1.2.

Sauna volume x 1.2 = new calculated number of cubic meters / 1.3

If you have large areas of material that affect the power requirement, an additional calculation can be made as below.

Per square meter (m2) of tiles, glass etc. in the sauna, add 0.5 cubic meters (m3) to the actual volume of the sauna.

Per square meter (m2) of glass or uninsulated walls facing the outside of the house add 1 cubic meter (m3) to the actual volume of the sauna.

Is it sufficiently insulated?

It is important to have good insulation in the walls and especially in the ceiling of a sauna. If there is no insulation, the sauna volume should be increased by 1.5 m3

Sauna volume x 1.5 = new calculated number of cubic meters / 1.3 m 3

How do you get the best sauna?

Do not choose too much power for your electric sauna heater. An oversized heater can cause it to work incorrectly. The function of the heater is to place stones for heating on the heat source (the heater's coils). A good heating of the sauna is based on the fact that the heater has to work for a longer period of time in order to heat up the stone reservoir. If you choose a too high power for your space, you will get a dry and hot sauna as the unit works too short a time to heat the stones. In "bath throwing", water is poured with a bucket over the stones, if the stones are really hot, the water evaporates and the humidity in the sauna increases. If you choose a sauna heater with too much power, your sauna will heat up quickly, when the temperature is reached the heater will turn off and work for shorter periods. This can lead to the stone reservoir getting cold and when throwing the bath, the water does not evaporate effectively, leaving you with a hot and dry sauna.
